October 19, 2010 !!!!! I can't believe that in less than 5 weeks I'll be having my surgery! I met with the surgeon scheduled to perform my RNY Friday afternoon. Dr Eyman has been performing this kind of surgery for 10 years. He went over everything with me, so much so, that he answered almost all of my questions. I will be able to resume my Aquacize classes after 2 weeks! and that's wonderful. Dr Eyman gave me a compliment when referring to my age. I'm 58 and he said that I look like I'm 38. Of course I don't believe 20 years younger, but I'll take 10 ! He gave me a binder with everything in it that I'll need. I'm going to take the "fill the pantry" sheet out and make a copy so that when I go shopping I won't forget anything.After 20 months of being unemployed, I've landed a part-time job at a nursing home, data entry clerk/receptionist. A few days during the week and every other w/e. Went to fill out all the paperwork Friday, go back Monday for the urine test and to get my schedule. Already mentioned that I'm scheduled for surgery on the 19th, and that in 2011, Memorial day week my family is going on a cruise for 7 days, Friday to Saturday, arriving home on Sunday. I'm starting to get nervous about the surgery, but I'm also happy that next year this time I'm going to be close to 75 lbs lighter. Dr Eyman wants to see me at l80 lbs. I was surprised, b/c I thought he'd say about minimum 150. He said he wanted a BMI between 25 to 30. No pressure there. OK, I need to do some more reading done so I'm out.
