Wow, it has been a while
May 24, 2010
So I had surgery on February 12, 2010. Surgery was tough for me. I was in the hospital for 5 days, with a couple small complications but then I was able to come home. Pain, OMG, the pain it was horrible......about a week later 2 of my incisions (the big one and the drain hole) got infected so I was back in the ER for that. I was also pumped full of fluids because apparently I was dehydrated too. eeek. So fast forward to now. I am 3+ months out, and I am doing wonderfully. I can fit into chairs that were super tight before. At the movie theatre I can put BOTH arm rests down and still be very comfortable. I can climb a flight of stairs and still breathe when I reach the top. I went from wearing a size 30 pants and size 4x shirt to a size 24(getting a lil big) pants and 2x shirt(have 1~1x that fits too). There have been so many changes in so short of time that have been great. I often find myself wanting more faster, but after I type all this out I just now realized that I have come so far and really I should be greatful. The changes havent all been easy. It is hard to be treated different by people that you know, and even people that you don't. I FEEL like the same girl I was before surgery. But most people treat me so differently now. It really pisses me off, really.
So eating, I am doing well in the eating department I think. The first 2 months were rough. I would throw up everything, but the third month was way better. I can now pretty much eat anything I have tried so far. Still haven't tempted fate with sugar, and I don't plan on it. I am lactose intollerant so I have to have LF milk with my protein powder. I drink one every morning for breakfast.
So here are my stats.....
Starting the whole process I was 369 pounds
At surgery I was 354 - sorry so pics, I was depressed and didn't take a pic :(
