Silver Cross Hospital

"First of all, this is a brand new hospital and it is gorgeous. The new hospital is in New Lenox not Joliet. I was on the 5th floor surgical unit. The nurses were awesome. Janelle took care of me like I was her sister. Sherri the CNA is a former WLS patient and is amazing. Stephen is new but he did everything in his power to help me. The PM nurse Veronica was a real biotch but i just tried my best never to pull the help button when she was on. Besides her nasty attitude, she also had real strong perfume on that made ma gag every morning at 1am when she just had to have my vitals. Was in the hospital for 2 nights. The day surgery team was amazing as well. They made me feel so comfortable. The anesthesiologist was great, he told me lots of jokes to keep me from thinking too much. Very good experience."

Daniel Moran

"Never saw Dr. Moran. Saw his fellow Erica who was very capable and nice. I liked that they called me back within an hr to schedule me within 3 days. I liked that since I nneded the eval to be approved by BCBSIL. "

Christopher D. Joyce

"Dr. Joyce is a kind, caring man. I actually work in the hospital where he works. He is very respected and well-liked by all staff. He is a great surgeon. He did my gall-bladder surgery and was so good to me throughout the entire process. His before and after care were awesome. I am looking forward to this journey with him. His surgical coordinator Cherish is amazing. She is super busy, but has always been supportive and followed thru on every promise she has made. I adore her. "

Vafa Shayani

"I went to this doctor's seminar and he seemed to really care about what he could do for all of us. When I tried to make an appointment, I was put off by his manager who stated they had to verify my insurance. This went on for weeks. I finally had my carrier fax them a pre-treatment authorization with benefits. United Health Care told me they had no record of anyone calling previously from that office. I was so relieved to finally schedule my appointment. Before the appointment I was seen by the nurse who was awesome. She made me feel so welcoming and told me the doctor was very good. Unfortunately, the man who did my consult was not the same man in that seminar. His attitude was gruff and uninterested. He asked me why I thought I was so obese? His demeanor was different. I could feel my heart sink. He sat in a chair, 6 feet from the exam table writing, never once looking at me. Why was I in a paper gown if he was never going to examine me? He asked me what diets I had been on and then told me to get dressed. That appointment was 5 minutes long. What a complete disappointment. This man is a great salesman, perhaps a good surgeon, but his bedside manner was not a good fit for me. "
