I was a normal sized young child. Pretty chubby through my pre teen and high school years. I pretended to be happy with my size. I would never say I couldn't do something because I was fat, I just said I didn't want to. Yo Yo dieting started for me at 13 years old. After each great weight loss I would gain it back plus some. I had an extreemly difficult time admitting I needed help with my weight. When ever I heard someone got a bypass I would think "they are out of thier minds!" I even said I would NeVER do that to my self. That came full circle. Two years ago I had a health scare with Leukemia. Thats when I started to feel like I had to be responsible for my own health. Thank God I did not have Leukemia, and strangly thank God for the scare! I decided to change my life, and my tool would be gastric bypass. I had my surgery on May 11 2009. My journey has just started and I can tell you I am very excited and feel proud to have made this decision. My life is very busy. I do paper pushing and book work for our family owned auto repair shop. I also work part time in guidance and counceling at the local school. I have been married for 23 years to the right guy, I have two sons who are grown and living out of the house. I have a daughter who is 13 and keeps me so busy with her *all star* schedule and social life. I am happy to say that none of my kids are battling a weight problem. My story is still unwritten I am sure it will be filled with love family friends and a whole new healthy me!
