I am Laura i am 28 years old and have been struggling with my weight well into my teenage years into now. At just 14 years old i was made fun of all the time by other kids at 225lbs. I was very depressed and ended up dropping out of school i fell to behind due to the depression. I am still very overweight my highest however was 401lbs and i managed to drop 64lbs with the help of my nutritionist.. but i have been bouncing back and forth with gaining back a pound or two here and there. My mom had gastric bypass "open" rny in 2001 and now i am looking into it. I have sleep apnea, asthma, feet & back problems, low levels of vitamin D, pre-diabetes, pre-hypertension. With 2 amazing daughters 6 and almost 8 i love them and they love me we need each other and mommy needs to work on getting healthy for all of us. After extensive research and talking to doctors,etc i have decided WLS is the way i want to go. I consider myself a strong willed person and determined to make this tool sucessful to me and my family.
