My name is Lyndsay. I'm 26 years old and I live in Loveland, OH. I was born in the early morning hours of Halloween in 1982. Like most, I've been struggling with my weight pretty much all my life. I remember being the "big kid" in Kindergarten. I feel like my life has been (and always has been) completely haulted because of my weight. I can't go out and do the things I love, like going to an amusement park, eating at a restraunt with out the worry of not being able to fit into the seats (getting there and actually NOT fitting), going to the beach or going swimming in a pool, running around with my dogs, taking my little cousin to places like the Aquarium or the Museum, going on an air plane, going to Las Vegas or anywhere else for that matter, riding a bike, roller skating, wearng high heels, feeling pretty.....the list goes on and on. I finally came to the conclusion this year that I'm done. I am going to get control of this beast if it kills me. I decided to go to a seminar to meet Dr. Curry a few months ago. Since then, I have set my surgery date and I'm so excited to be on this journey. I've been on the pre op diet for a few weeks now and am working out as much as I can. I have a team of dieticians, exercise physiologists, and nurses that continue to impress me everyday. I have so much support from my family, friends, and co-workers. Not just them, either!! I've been emailing back and forth with a few WLS patients who are all pulling for me and supporting me like I could never even hope for!!! On March 10th, I will check into the hospital and Dr. Curry is going to perform a Sleeve Gastrectomy. We decided on this because Gastric Bypass was a little more expensive, (did I mention I'm paying for this whole thing completely out of pocket? Thanks for nothing 5/3 Bank) and he assures me that the weight loss results are very similar to those who undergo GB. I hope this is true!
I honestly feel like I am coming back to life.....Digging my way out of the grave and showing everyone, icluding myself, just what I am capable of. Get ready, world. I'm on my way!
