10 Reasons Why I Love My Life...

Jul 28, 2010

My next two blog posts will probably sound conceited but I am being super positive today and only focusing on the good. I wanted to list out what I want with my life and what I love about myself.

10 Reasons why I love my life:

1)      I am back in school and happy, after being scared for so long to take the plunge. I am now an MBA student. I will graduate November 2011 and I intend to take advantage of every opportunity presented to finally build a career like I have always wanted, and not just a job.

2)      I have discovered a love of exercise. I love to walk and run, swim, ride bikes, anything to keep moving.

3)      I have wanted a Jeep since I was 14 yrs old, so half my life. I finally have one. I have struggled and worked to make it happen, but I did it! And I love it!

4)      I have lost an entire person (weight-wise) in under 14 mos! I am amazing and it is incredible what the body is capable of doing if you push it hard enough.

5)      I have finally rebuilt my relationship with my mother. It is not perfect, but we actually enjoy each other’s company now and I am glad to have one parent in my life who is supportive.

6)      Despite not making very good $ at all, I am able to maintain an apartment and live on my own. No roommates, no help.

7)      I have bounced back, recovered from my failed marriage, and am learning to trust and be in relationships again. It is very hard, but I AM doing it.

8)      I am thin. Yes I am. Despite the parts of my body that I dislike, I am a thin girl. Bony, even. People envy me because I am thin, and you know what? After years of being teased and mocked because of my weight, it feels DAMN GOOD that people are envious. I am the stereotypical sz 2 that most women want to be, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t smile every time I look at the size label in my jeans.

9)      I have a job. Yes, it is not what I want to be doing, and it drives me crazy, but…I am working when many aren’t. I get paid. One day I will do something meaningful and wonderful and will succeed beyond anything I can dream of, but for right now, at least I have a job.

10)  I have a best friend I have known for 20 yrs who is still present in my life. We have come and gone out of each others’ lives and always find our way back to each other. Not many people can say that.
