11 weeks post-op! 1st goal met!

Nov 17, 2010

So I have had the goal to be 299 since November 1st. Then that came and went and I was still not at that weight. So i said, I will make it for my birthday. that is November 19Th. It was a week when i decided to change it (it has only been officially changed for one day on the computer). So, I weighed in today and I am at 296! I haven't seen this weight in over 7 years! can you believe this! I am super excited. I have to take new pictures. you wouldn't believe it! lol. I can feel my head getting bigger!!! hehehe. nah, but for real, all my patients at work at noticing the lose (it is 68lbs) they are proud of me. my co workers don't stop talking about it. even the ones I don't really talk to that much are saying things like hey slim!! Not use to that one, but this is so exciting.
I went to the gym twice this week so far. I have blisters on both ankles that hurt like a booger! so I did the elliptical today and then the bike so my feet were not rubbing like when on the treadmill. But i burn over 400 calories when I do the treadmill, so I am going to try band aides again and see if that helps.
My friend went for her first appt today with Dr. Jawad. She said our insurance covers the sleeve now, so she is going to start all the paperwork and possibly do the surgery by march. That is 4 months. I have to be very small by then, or like I said before, there will be a major competition at the job.
The support group meeting is tomorrow, I am actually excited about it. I have lots of questions. Like, why does everything I eat make me throw up. I'm serious, every thing I eat, comes right back up. I am afraid to tell anyone, because I don't want them to tell me I have to reverse this operation. Also, I thought I had a UTI Monday, so I ran a UA and the leukocytes were normal, but all the other stuff was way off. My urobilirubin was high along with the protein, bilirubin, and ketones. All that indicates malnourishment, nausea vomiting, and liver disease! WTH! I went straight to the Dr. I work for and asked her what was up with this. She told me that I could have fatty liver, do a CMP when I get in tomorrow and see what the bilirubin is on the blood. If it is elevated, then we would do an ultrasound. So the next morning, I went to work and did it. A couple of the liver enzymes are high, but the bilirubin was ok. She said I could just have mild liver disease, but most likely the farther I go with the new healthy lifestyle, it will reverse! OMG!
So when I go for my 3 month follow up with Dr. Jawad, I have to do blood work, so I will see what it is then. Talking about scaring the crap out of me.
Well, I have 32 lbs to go for my next goal, which is a little less than a month away, but I think I can do it. I laid off the weight training for a little and focusing on cardio and core. Gotta get rid of the flab on my tum tum. There will be a major celebration if I get that goal. 100 lbs in 3 months! oh yea baby. I think I can do it.
Well, talk to you next week!
