I had understood for the longest time that Gastric Bypass Surgery was no longer available in Ontario.  I figured..ahh! just my luck.  One day I happened upon this site and I started reading the Ontario forums and I couldn't believe what I was reading,  here all kinds of people have been having surgery.  The next morning I called TWH and asked them for the referral forms, they faxed them right away to my Dr's office.  I had an appointment with my Dr.  in about a week so I thought I could hold out that long.  Finally when I went to see him, he had the papers and he filled them out and gave them to his secretary to be faxed back.  At the time I asked for a copy of the referral (boy was I glad I did).  Being impatient, I lived with my phone not inches from me (how is that for wishful thinking).  I just keep reading the forums here and that kept me sane.  The other day I saw a forum message about Administration Woes at TWH and my heart sunk.  I called my Dr's. office and asked if they had received confirmation of the forms, the lady on the phone was not my Dr's. regular secretary but she got out my file and said that the form was there but it was blank?  What???? NO WAY???  when I had left the office that day I had asked his secretary if the forms had been faxed and she said yes.  So, having a copy of the referral I faxed it off myself.  Now I have my fingers crossed they got this copy.   I am ready to fight the battle, it took me a long time to get here, but I am sure it will be worth the wait.
