As of Aug. 2006, I switched ins. co. My previous ins. co. did not cover anything weight loss related (except nutrition classes). After an initial denial and a long and detailed appeal letter, I have an appt. w/ a surgeon on Nov. 15th. My BMI is about 38 and I am 5' 4 1/2", moderate sleep apnea, constant acid reflux, bad knees and lower back, family history of obesity (including death related to obesity, 2 cousins having had WLS, 1 more cousin schedualed at the end of Nov.), and a 15 year history of weight loss and gain. Say a prayer and wish me luck......
