What does it feel like to have someone notice you?

I've been fat all of my life. I've hidden from people all my life. I've looked at beautiful women and pondered and searched in my mind for what it might feel like for someone to "see" me and take notice for more than just being huge. I think about it a lot and it's something that really can take a toll. What has been your experience with those first moments where you feel like people recognize who you are? Is it overwhelming? Is it scary? Is it so wonderful that it's almost intoxicating?
