"Dr H saved my life! Again!
When my son was about 2 months old and I had just gone back to work, I started having terrible abdominal pain. Trip to the ER later, twisted bowel. THEY SENT ME HOME! What? Anyway, 3 days later, different ER. Dr. H and his team said, surgery ASAP. I had an internal hernia and although my bowel had untwisted, it was stuck in the hernia. He did a very quick surgery and I went home the same day. He is such a great doctor. "
"My first impression of Dr Hoxworth was that he was very quiet, but knowledgable and that assesment didn't change over time. The office staff at Central Carolina Surgery had some problems at first, but did improve after some changes were made and are fantastic now. They are a great team that has everything down pat. Dr. Hoxworth doesn't do the hand-holding thing. At least he didn't with me. I guess I didn't need it though. Maybe if you are the type of person that's nervous and anxious alot he will. The aftercare program is good although not as intensive as I've heard other places have. If you feel you need somebody to watch over you constantly and monitor you, maybe this isn't the dr for you. He explained the risks very well over and over. He took into account that I had been through WLS with my mother and didn't treat me like I was ignorant. He was so competent. My surgery had no complications. I was out of the hospital in 3 days. My scars are barely noticeable. I would rate him highly for someone who has educated themselves and know what they are getting into, maybe not so much for someone who is nervous about the procedure.rn"
