Ohhhhh, that sucks.... all I can tell you is what I'm going to try to remember to tell myself when it gets bad, which is that everyone here who seems to be doing so wonderfully had at least one really, truly crappy day post-op, and it'll pass!! Just visualize some NSV's.... standing up and having the pants you're wearing right now slide right down off your hips.... having your pants look ridiculous because they're so loose, getting comfortably into a tight pair hanging in your closet, and then having THEM be totally baggy-assed.... breathe your way through it and just remember that it'll get better and you'll be so glad you did it very soon!! :)

Topic: RE: OT - superbowl snacks - or !!FOOD PORN!!!
Oh gawwwwwwd, I forgot about the Super Bowl!

*sob*

I love the Super Bowl... I love football!  For years Sundays during the fall and winter have been all about cooking up a big batch of food in the morning that we could all just pick at all day long whenever we were hungry (or not hungry, you know how that goes) while watching football for 10 hours.  Ah well.... I'll still make goodies for the boys, and I'll still be on liquids then so I'll just have to get creative with the protein shakes! LOL...

Heather, I've never even heard of roasted chick peas before but I TOTALLY plan on trying those eventually, they sound wonderful!!

WOW, it hardly seems real!!   But work-wise, I had the choice to either get it done ASAP, or wait until my partner at work was back from his vacation next month... so on the way back from the surgeon's office today I swung by work to see if we could arrange a couple weeks' worth of coverage for me this soon, and it's a go... OMG!!!

I am sooooo glad to be reading what you girls are posting, 'cause even though I can get into it once things have begun, my actual libido has become fairly nonexistent over the last couple of years.  I figured it was due to hormonal changes (being 44) but you're giving me hope! :D

I probably have no business answering you as a pre-op... BUT, as an interested bystander it seems to me like returning to your original full liquid regimen for a week and then re-introducing mushies and solids might be the way to go, following pouch rules the whole way.  I hope you figure it out, good luck! :)

Do you mean the surgery itself, or the approval process (if your ins. covers it), or the recovery, or the weight loss? :)

A-MAAAAAAAA-ZINGGGGG!!!!!  Seven months?  Holy cow.  I'm just floored.  You and the other gals who have posted goal pics over the last few days, you have no idea (or maybe you do, having been here!) how exciting and encouraging you make things for us pre-oppers. :)

I'm constantly looking at stats, comparing them to mine, and going "Wow.... is it possible that I could really look like that???"  Can I be nosy and ask what your height and beginning weight were?

Congratulations, you look absolutely incredible!

I totally agree!  If I can't make the other stuff work, I won't hesitate to try the bullets.  I just wasn't really sure what they were in the first place 'cause I hadn't found them anywhere! :)

OK, thank you!  Yep, I know already to go for the whey protein isolate so that's what I'll stick with.  I have several Nectar samples on the way as well as some of the Unjury unflavored and chicken soup.  Thanks for clearing that up for me! :)

I see these referenced a lot, but haven't seen them on any of the websites I've looked at for supplements.  Are they something you can get at GNC, or order online?

Topic: RE: Anyone with LESS reflux after surgery??
This is so great to hear, thanks all!  I have high hopes... I've been bothered intermittently by it since pregnancy 21 years ago, but now it's nightly UNLESS I'm eating small quantities of low-carb stuff--I know that's what we eat after surgery anyway, but it seems like soooooo many people still have it anyway.  I'd love not to have to take anything for it and to go to sleep knowing I'm not gonna wake up choking on stomach acid.

Can not waaaaiiiiiiittttttt (reflux or not!)!!!

I know I've seen one or two people mention having less or no reflux after surgery, when they had a problem with it before.  Seems like 90% go the other way--from having none to having a ton.

I'd like to hear from anyone who seems to have lost their GERD problem with the surgery...are you out there? :)

Topic: RE: 3 weeks post-op, soda and leaks?
I asked my surgeon at his seminar last night why a leak would develop at the 2-3 week mark when it seems that there should be some good healing happening by then and a good scar forming.  He didn't really explain why exactly, but he said that the 2-3 week period is when that line is at it's weakest, even moreso than immediately following surgery.  Be careful! :)

Topic: RE: Unjury powder
I'm glad to see you're getting it down!  I took a leap of faith yesterday and ordered two cans of the unflavored and one of the soup (plus a buttload of samples of Nectar from Vitalady.com), trying to get ready for at least the first week or two (I'll be done in about six weeks or so).  I'm loving reading what newly post-ops like you are sharing with us.... thanks! :)
