Diarrhea first week post op
Had sleeve Monday July 21st. Having a hard time with diarrhea two days now. Prior to that I hadn't had bowel movement in eight days...(days prior and after surgery). When it finally happened it has not been normal. I realize dehydration is a risk now. Plan to call doctor tomorrow but is this a normal thing for sleeved peeps?
After I had my sleeve in June, I was expecting constipation, as most people I had spoken with who had the same surgery had that problem. However, the diarrhea started for me while I was still in the hospital! It lasted a couple of days, and then I would say transformed into loose stools for another day or two, and now I feel I am "normal". It's been a month since my surgery. I certainly would contact your doctor to make sure, as you definitely do not want to get dehydrated! Hope this alleviates some worry!
It's fairly normal for liquid in to yield liquid out - I assume you're still on a liquid diet?

I tooo had it bad !!!! Almost 2 weeks .... I was checked and they believed it was due to the contrast from the leak test ..which they did 2 times on me..(2nd day and again day 7 ... because of dehydration and the diarrhea) ughhhhhh it was a pain in the butt!!!! And yes pun intended !!!! It will be over shortly but tell your surgeon. .. and drink more then u should cause it's coming out!! Best of luck!!!! :-)
