Had sleeve Monday July 21st.  Having a hard time with diarrhea two days now.  Prior to that I hadn't had bowel movement in eight days...(days prior and after surgery).  When it finally happened it has not been normal.  I realize dehydration is a risk now.  Plan to call doctor tomorrow but is this a normal thing for sleeved peeps?

After I had my sleeve in June, I was expecting constipation, as most people I had spoken with who had the same surgery had that problem.  However, the diarrhea started for me while I was still in the hospital!  It lasted a couple of days, and then I would say transformed into loose stools for another day or two, and now I feel I am "normal".  It's been a month since my surgery.  I certainly would contact your doctor to make sure, as you definitely do not want to get dehydrated!  Hope this alleviates some worry!

I was sleeved on the 22nd and haven't had  a BM since at least the 21st. I'm wondering if I should get something to help it along or wait? Ugh.

I had diarrhea for the first 2 weeks post op.  My Dr stated that was normal because we are only taking in liquids.

Before leaving the hospital, I was informed 1) I won't poop for a few days and 2) it's going to be diarrhea. If I lasted longer than a week (no BM), call the dr. I had a diarrhea for about a week, and just finally had a firm bm 9 days post op.

It's fairly normal for liquid in to yield liquid out - I assume you're still on a liquid diet?

I was also sleeved on the 22nd. No BM yet  kinda scared it will hurt when it finally happens.

I've been mixing a tsp of miralax in with my measly 2 oz of water in hopes to "ease" the first BM.

I tooo had it bad !!!! Almost 2 weeks .... I was checked and they believed it was due to the contrast from the leak test ..which they did 2 times on me..(2nd day and again day 7 ... because of dehydration and the diarrhea)  ughhhhhh it was a pain in the butt!!!! And yes pun intended !!!! It will be over shortly but tell your surgeon. .. and drink more then u should cause it's coming out!! Best of luck!!!! :-)
