The reason I'm asking is because I have a friend and her husband taking these with good labs. My friend had rny about 8 years ago and have been taking these for about 4-5 years and have had labs with no problems and her husband had rny about 2 years ago and take these too and his labs are fine. So anyway my friend wants me to try these out for awhile. You hear different stories about what people take. Barilife has everything in it that we need. What do you take?

First, I would be wary about anyone who tells you they have good labs. I've seen far too mAny whose DOCTORS tell them they have good labs, and they aren't.

There is no perfect, magical vitamin. The multivitamin part is really very easy. There are a gazillion brands that are good. What's more important is getting regular labs, checking the results ourselves, and tweaking. Usually, adding extra B12, D3, and iron is most common.

Taking only a multi for 8 years and having everything truly be fine would be enormously rare.

Thanks for answering, I will be going August 3 to St Vincents, first I talk to Dietition about how I'm doing and vitamins I take though I'm weary about that because she told me last year to stop taking the 1-50,000 d3 my number is 83 to taking 2000 a day and said it's fine to take jell tabs because her other patients take them and have had no problems. I still take 1-50,000 weekly. if you can't trust them who do you trust this is their specialty. I'm afraid if I drop down my d3 my number will drop don't they know that?

Are you having full labs drawn? There really is no point in talking about vitamins unless you are having a full set of labs drawn.

I just looked at the Bari Life vitamin stats. One dose gives 50 to 100 percent of the RDA of most vitamins. And one dose is THREE tablets. We are supposed to be getting 200 percent of the RDA, which means we'd be needing AT LEAST 6 of those things, every day. And you'd still be short on some things.

Taking 6 of those a day, you'd go broke.

I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.

I take a muti vitamin, two iron tablets , 50,000mg vitamin D and inject myself with 1 cc of B12 every month. Grim is right. One multi won't do it. Basic one vial labs may look good but so much more to it.

I should add I got lax about year 10 and was tired, bone pain and numb feet. Definately don't do as I did. Vitamins like the food choices ( I don't diet ) are for life.
