First Unpleasantness from Food, ideas?

I have been on mushie food for a week now and yesterday I had extreme nausea and then dry-heaving from it. I don't think I ate anything new. I've been having a hard time with my shakes, but I am getting enough protein. I just want to figure out what caused it so I don't do it again.

It has been extra dry in the house due to the cold and the heater running non-stop, so maybe I got a little too dehydrated?

Anyone have any thoughts?

what did you eat before you got sick?  Dehydration can cause nausea, so that may well be it.  make sure you're getting AT LEAST 64 oz of water in.

I started feeling nauseous right when I woke up. I had my normal menu of tuna smushed and a little no sugar added applesauce for lunch and some smushed sausage and a little cream cheese filling from the inside of a crab wanton. And my protein shakes.

Not sure any of that would have caused it unless something just didn't get smushed enough.

I am working on the water, even added yucky electrolyte water per NUT's instruction.

I usually get about 40-80 ozs in, just depending on if I na*****t. Two hour nap = way less time to sip.

It could have been anything really.  I had a few episodes where no matter what I ate I felt nauseated, and a few when I knew what caused it.

Hope you feel better soon.

could have been sugar in the crab filling.

How were you feeling mentally? I mean what was your state of mind? Since my surgery, I find it's easier to eat by myself. This is easy for me since my husband & I are retired and we eat when we feel like it. Even just with my husband, he'll mention a bill or a friend that may be having problem, and there I go.... cannot eat unless I really want to upchuck. I'm really sensitive. Also, smells & appearance of foods. If I have a thought that it might be bad or I notice something unusual, same deal. If I've finished with a meal I need 30 minutes to digest or begin to digest. Possible this is what happened to you (STRESS, ORDORS OR BAD FOOD THOUGHTS). This doesn't happen all the time & I manage it. Everyone is so unique in this aspect.

Be sure to try things again even if it doesn't agree with you at first. As your body heals, things can change.

I wish you well.

Sometimes if I eat meat reheated it causes me issues.  Most common is chicken.  I find it has gotten better as time has gone on, but still occasionally have issues with reheated meat.  I hope you figure out what the issue is.  The dehydration is a big thing.  Sip sip sip.

I haven't had the dry heaving but had the nausea this week. I made this pork brisket and it smelled awesome. Went to puree some up for me and the smell turned me off.

Won ton filling can have sugar added to it.  And no-sugar-added fruit is still filled with sugar (fruit sugar is still sugar).

I'm not saying this caused your symptoms... I am just saying make sure you understand the reality of what you are eating... before you write it off as a possible cause.

Personally, whenever I threw up early on, it was because I had eaten too quickly and not chewed enoughl
