6th day of pre op liquids, I have no energy. Staying hydrated. Does your energy come back post op?

It will slowly. You have to be patient. You just had major surgery! Mine came back at about 6 weeks. It seems to take forever and you start to think you are going to feel like this forever but you don't. Don't worry. Just relax and heal up. Don't push yourself.

Mine came back at about 6 weeks too. Focus on water and protein (when your doctor allows). Take naps. It's OK, you need to recover.

It does, but it will take a while. Since you are still pre-op try taking some vitamin B complex since that is a natural energy booster.

Things get better, but be prepared for them to get a little worse meaning right after the surgery.

Yes....but not till 4-6 months post op.

Literally, 2-3 months post op I thought I was fine to do easy yoga. Then I would almost faint in class!

So I stopped exercising for a bit and then one day at about 4-6 months out, while walking down the street, I was propelling myself wiht too much strength (i.e. I was used to pushign x hard to propel a 270 lb body...but I was now 210 lbs and using the same amount of force).

Then I felt STRONG and successful and knew it was time to GO BACK to the gym.

Now, I am about to embark on my first half marathon (pretty good for a gal that almost passes out in yoga).

It gets better.

Promise!!!

I didn't start to get a sense of normal energy for 3-4 months.
