Real Food

Mar 25, 2014

I had my first real food today!  I had some shredded chicken with low fat cottage cheese. It was only a few bites but it was the best. It was like Thanksgiving...lol! My incisions are healing up nice but every now and then it will hurt some when I move a certain way. I think it because they are scabbed over and the skin pulls on it. Probably in a week the scabs will be gone. Still fight to get the 64oz of water and the shakes. The water is getting better. I think I'm close to 35oz. I got about 40gm protein plus the very little amount protein I ate. I wonder if my stomach will stretch out a little bit here in a month or so to able to get my h2o and protein in. I'll have ask my NUT next week.

Still trying

Mar 16, 2014

Still trying to get 64oz water and my protein shakes in. Today I could only managed to get down 1-30g protein shake and 30ish oz of water. Hopefully I can get little more in tomorrow. I'm still gassy but I know it's not the surgery gas but me. I've been having gas and diarrhea all day long for 2 days now. I wonder if anyone else had this after their surgery. Plus I need to find out a good trick to swallow crushed pills without gagging. So far I tried with water and also in a small spoonful of apple sauce. Maybe I will try it with a sip of apple juice tonight.

I'm getting excited for summer! Stores have been putting out swimsuits, shorts, tees and sundresses, oh my!  Looking forward to go shopping in a month. Just a few cheap outfits since I'll only get wear them for a little bit. I think I'll have to buy clothes a goodwill to get by while losing this weight.

BTW I'm missing my bed. I'm still sleeping in the recliner. The day that I get to sleep in my bed and on my side will be like Heaven.

I've been SLEEVED!!!

Mar 15, 2014

I got back home from the hospital on Friday. Well one thing the pain is horrible. Friday night I felt like I was dying. You have to take your pain meds every 4 hours. If you go over by 1 min then your in agony. I'm trying to get adjusted to the amount of water and protein shakes while trying to squeeze in my regular meds and bariatric vitamins. How do you find the room? I read from so many people that the first week is hard now I see why. I'm looking forward to week 2. I have to say that I'm still happy that I got WLS. Plus I'm excited to start seeing the weight dropping off.

Yippee!!!

Mar 02, 2014

My surgery is scheduled for March 12th!  It felt like this day would never come. Started my liquid diet which is 2 shakes and 1 400 calorie meal. I feel like I'm starving to death but I know I need to get that darn live to shrink down. I did cheat a few times but I'm trying to stay on track. Just got to be strong. Anyway I got 10 days to clean and I mean deep clean the house. It's kinda like nesting in a way. I don't want to worry much about the house after surgery. I wonder if there will be a dvd player in my hospital room? I'm trying to make a list out of what to bring while I'm in there for 2 days.

I wish I would have thought about get WLS done few years ago. I'm looking forward to all the things I will be able to do plus I will be getting healthy. I'm ready for the change for the NEW me!

More excited now!

Jul 08, 2013

I got to talk to a guy that works with my husband that had VSG. Next month will be 1 year post-opt. He answered all my questions plus gave me some good tips for pre-opt process. Like they don't tell you that you have to get tested by cardiologist and sleep study until the 5 month. He said he was rushing around getting everything done. So I will make sure I get that done ASAP. Plus knowing I don't have to give up my favorite food completely. I would like to get the VSG so let's hope that they will agree too.

I'll get a before (now) picture up soon. I can't wait to see the transformation. I wish I had done this sooner. Now I have to wait till January. Six months are going to drag.  One way to pass the time is looking at all the wonderful transformations of everyone on OH! angry
