I'm Teresa, 35 yrs old, live in Charleston, married a long time and have 3 beautiful children...Tyler 14, Christopher 10 and Kayla 9. I have been overweight and considered obese (boy I hate that word..lol) since I was 15 yrs old. I have about 110-120lbs I would like to lose with the Lapband. A couple of years ago I was in the process of getting approved for RNY. I started having gallbladder problems so kind of gave up on the idea because they weren't able to determine it was my gallbladder. The pains stopped and then about Nov. of this past year I started having the pains again. This time the doctors decided to take out my gallbladder although they couldn't prove it was the problem. Well it was taken out and I can assure you it was the problem...my stomach pains quit. Once I was healed I started looking at RNY again and came across info about the Lapband. I definitely knew it was for me! No rerouting of the insides is what sold the deal for me! Soooo I finally saw the doctor Thurs. and she told me she thought I was a good candidate for the Lapband. Now I'm waiting for a surgery date as soon as my insurance approves it. I've already seen the Psychiatrist and the Nutritionist so I'm raring to go.
