My name is Judy and I have been over weight for the majority of my life. There was a couple of years where I was not fat but was never what you would say thin. And I do not expect to be thin now either I just want to be healthier and be around longer for my son. He is 14 years old and is Special Needs. So he needs his mom healthy. I am so happy about this finally happening. WOO HOO... .
I started this process in November of 2006. My primary care Dr told me that Kaiser now approved Gastric Bypass some years back when I had inquired they were not approving it for everyone. So there the journey began.
Kaiser requires you go through a 6 month class.. So I went on the waiting list for the class in November of 2006 and I got into the class in April of 2007. Class was over in October of 2007. Then came all the pre-opt testings etc. And visits with Dr. Suh.
I had started at 399 back in April of 2007. .
I will see Dr. Suh on Thursday the 21st of Feb to get my staples removed. (smile)
My surgery went well had my gallbladder removed too. When I woke up in recovery the nurses said I did not even look like I had my surgery yet. I was doing so well. I had my surgery Feb 13th at 7:30 am at Inland Valley. The nurses and DRs are awesome there. I had the BEST care.
I am happy to be home and doing well. Now the journey really begins.....
