Goodbye, Mr. Recliner!

Finally slept in my own bed last night! So glad to be out of that recliner.

Surgery on Monday, but now I am coughing like crazy!
Jan 09, 2012
I am panicking because I really don't want my surgery date to change and I'm afraid that they will make me wait with this cough. I've called the surgeon and left a message with his nurse, but haven't heard back yet. I hope I hear back soon so I know if they want to see me or if I need to go see my GP. I hate waiting and I am praying this doesn't screw up my whole surgery process. To top it off I now have a rash under my left breast. Looks like yeast. I put some cream on it last night and it already looks much better. I guess the mental stress of upcoming surgery is starting to take it's toll on my body.
I've been doing this pre-op diet and have less than a week to surgery. I hope it doesn't get changed. I don't think I can do this diet twice and not be resentful.
On a good note, I've lost almost two pounds since Friday.

Sleep...

I met witht he sleep doctor this morning and will have to do a sleep study before he will approve me for surgery. Luckily I will be able to do it at home. SO this coming Wednesday I will be picking up the equipment and wearing it for the night. Once I turn it back in it will take 1-2 weeks to get the results back. If I have sleep apnea then I have to go back and see him to discuss treatment, otherwise I am done and he will sign off on me. Crossing my fingers that I don't have any problems with the test. I don't think I have sleep apnea, but you really can't know for sure without testing. Wish me luck!

I had the egd today. Doc said everything looked good and that there was nothing found to keep me from having surgery. Yeah!
Now onto the next step. I meet with the sleep specialist tomorrow and then the hematologist in August. Once I have their okays I just have to finish out the 6 month diet and make sure they have weights from the last five years.
As for now, I am going to sleep some more. That stuff they gave me sure does work, LOL.

And the journey begins...

I am now on my 2nd month of the 6 month doc supervised diet required by my insurance company before I can have WLS. I don't think I have been as enthusiastic as I could have been because I am still waiting for all the specialist docs to approve me for surgery. I guess it is me protecting myself. I just got approval from my neurologist and I meet with a sleep doctor this week. Then the only one left will be the hematologist. I was most worried about the neuro who approved at my appointment last Wednesday so that was a relief. I want to try and loose as much as possible before surgery because I think it will make everything easier. Down 8lbs with 2 vacations since last month. Hoping for more next month.
