I am a 50 year old grandmother raising my 2 grandchildren (ages 5 & 10). I've been married to a wonderful man for almost 30 years (anniversarany is in May). My weight problems began when I was pregnant with our daughter (only child). After she was born I began a rollercoaster of up and down weight. I tried almost every diet known to man and even lost 87 lbs once, only to regain every lost lb. and more. I now have Type 2 diabetes, Acid Reflux desease, Thyroid desease, High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure, Osteoarthritis, and Degenerative Joint desease in my knees. I finnally releaized that if I did not get my weight and health under control, that I would not live long enough to raise my grandchildren, and my husband and I are all they have. I feel so blessed that I finnally was able to obtain insurance that would cover my RNY. I thank GOD every day for allowing me the chance to have this surgery and look forward to being able to do things with my husband and grandchildren that I haven't been able to do for a long time. My journey begans.......
