 Well I'm 24 days out and 17 lbs down since then, plus the 10 I lost pre-op puts me at 27...Not to shabby. I go for my first fill June 4th. I feel good. I have to say the first five days were the worst,but not that bad..If that makes sense. I got tired easier and needed a nap and because I could I took them.. I think everyone should still take naps...LOL . 

Well this is it...April 20th, the final countdown till myApril 24th surgery....I am on liquids and I am starting to slosh when I walk. I had my pre-op test at the hospital, blood, urine,didn't need chest xray because I had that from Pulmanary doc. Didn't need EKG cause I had that from the Cardiologist. sooo I met with Antistiesia doc. He was concerened about my neck surgery and whether I had good motion of my neck which I do. I had disc
s removed and my neck fused with cadaver bone...Thank you doner's...I am one as well, although when they asked me at the hospital if I was an organ doner I said I was , but I really prefer to be quite dead first!!!  lol  Then After the pre test at hospital I went up to see Nutritionist and surgeon and nurse..Nurse said I lost 3 lbs {Oh so it does move, I really was beginning to wonder} and Nut went over post op and pre-op liquids. Ginger is very sweet. Then on to see the surgeon....Dr. Reich is young and cute and very easy to talk to, he could be my son.....yikes when did that happen,that docs and cops are all sooo young????  I shouwed him the five books I had read on the subject and he said to the nurse I better be spot on in explaining things to her cause she'll know if I mes up!! I told you he was funny, he also said If he needed any help during the surgery he would wake me.......Thanks.......lol  So any way thats where I am today, so far since I started this journey in Oct. I am down a whopping 10 lbs...IT is a wet and rainy chilly April Monday as=nd I'm thinking this week may just be very long....Let's go Friday....I do have to say I feel a little guility having surgery and not telling my children, not that I want them to worry, just that if anything should happen I wouldn't want them to blame their father for not saying anything...It was my choice not to tell...He agreed with me but the decision was mine. I just didn't think they would understand....And I really needed this time to focus on me and the changes I would need to make and not try to educate them on this surgery...Because I know not one of them would get on their computer and look it up and learn about it on their own...I have Fibromyalgia and Rheumitoid Arthritus and not one on them has ever bothered to learn a thing about either one.Although they are all four always on the computor. THey are not babies either. they are 35,32,30,28!!!!!!!! When they were children if anything was wrong I spent hours looking things up in all kinds of books, we didn't have the convience of a computer..But I t seems to be too much of an effort to do that for mom. OH well I have gotten off topic. My shrink says I owe them nothing...no explanation of having the surgery or ever having the surgery...It just isn't the way I always imagined my "WALTON" family to be.... I guess I expected too much...So now I wait till Friday to start my new life........I shall continue..........

Good Morning, My name is Susan and I am to be banded on May 22nd, I am 55 yrs old and I read your blogs and thought what a wonderfull mentor you would be for me, if you wanted to. I have been heavy since I was about 6, lost and gained,etc,etc, In high scholl my mother put me on heavy diet pills,they were legal right..black beauties and christmas trees,the big guns, see I'm an only child and mom wanted me to be a model.{her dream, not mine} So yes I got thin and then was put in modeling school and started to get small jobs here and there, that's when I learned about Bulimia.{they didn't have a name for it back then} Eat what you want and throw up and take dieuretics and laxatives....I hated the whole world of modeling. Unless you were a top model it was a cutthroat business and I wasn't made that way. I knew my husband since I was 12 and he was a good friend to me. Someone wanted to sponsor me in the Miss USA pagent,winnere goes on to Miss World. My mother was thrilled,I however was mortified...I am on the shy side and diod not want to do it. So I turned it down..My mother has never forgiven me for that  and I have not had contact with her since I married my best friend Joe in 1973. I have four grown children and 2 and a half grandsons the third is due end of April. The weight like you said came and went with the children, my hubby is a tractor trailor driver and was on the road while I raised the four kiddies.I lost this weight soo many times and it always comes back with friends!! I am at last Nut visit 311 and I am 5'6 I was a hairstylist for 20 years till Carpel Tunnel put me out of commission. I had the surgery in both hands in 2001. In 2005 I had my left hip replaced and last May I had discs removed in my neck that were pressing on my spine and the neck was fused. I have a torn rotator cuff in my left shoulder and my right hip is starting to give me trouble. But I have a really good outlook for this Band procedure I have been working on getting it since November and have jumped through all the hoops the insurance Co. wanted.I have been going to support meetings and I really want to suceed doing this. I read the book your doctor wrote called Lap-Band for life and it was wonderfull and he is banded also,which I thought was good. Sooooooo I have seen the sucess you have had and I thought you would be a good influence. I hope to be friends and have enjoyed all your posts. Thank you for reading my book..lol By the way I live in New Jersey but my third daughter lives in NC. she is with the Coast Guard and is in her 11th year.She is in Elizabeth City. Thanks again.

I wrote all my history in my letter to Grammylou, which is available to read, so I really don't want to go there. I have been moved up in my surgery date.
Originally I was scheduled for May22nd, but know because of a cancelation I will be having it on April 24th!!!

Today is Tuesday the 14th of April, I started to wean myself to the pre-op liquid diet. I have not been told to start it yet so I thought if I started slowly, it might help.
Yesturday Monday, and today I will have liquids all day except for lunch I will have my 6oz.of Greek Yogurt,plain and fat free. I put frsh blueberries, strawberries, pineapple,and green grapes in it, to make it more of a meal. Iwill see my surgeon and Nut. tomorrow, so they may tell me no more of that !! We'll see.
