Today I am 8 days post-op. It has been a rough week. No classes or amount of education can truly prepare you for the mental fight with food. While it is not physically possible to be hungry, the first few days felt like i was starving. I am sooooo over the protein shakes and supplements. Its a battle just to swallow it now. I am tolerating more at one time than they said i would be able to which is a little alarming. but overall i feel pretty good. I have gotten used to not eating and pretty much live on ff sf pudding. i cant wait til my check up when i can move to the progression phase. so far I am down 11.5 lbs. I had to weigh myself for some reassurance that the suffering was worth it. and it is. :)

Today I am 3 days post op. And for the most part I feel great. I switched my dressing for a band aid today and everything looked great. The other incisions look great as well. I'm doing good getting my liquids in but still struggling with the protein. Today I am going to try mixing it with sugar free fat free pudding and see if that helps. Each day has gotten easier and I am substituting every other dose of pain meds for Tylenol since the pain is easing up. Can't wait to see the numbers on the scale at my 2 week visit :)

My surgery has been scheduled for July 16. I am so excited. I was hoping it would have been sooner but I guess it can't be rushed. The next 20 days are going to seem like forever.

I recently began the process of preparing to have bariatric surgery. I have my surgery clearance appointment on Wednesday and then my packet will be complete and ready to submit for insurance approval. I am very nervous because I have not read any reviews from anyone with my insurance and my BMI/Comorbidities being approved. This is all so stressful. I feel this is my last hope and if I am not approved I am all out of options.
