Surgery Update 4.6.09

Hello All,

 I began to write my story about a week ago and after about half way complete, my cursor decided to click on search and I lost  everything written. I was disgusted at that point and I just logged off. So as you can see, I made it to the other side.  The surgery itself went well. The pain meds in the hospital were great and my surgeon uses a numbing gel on the belly prior to surgery so you don't feel any discomfort in that area once you awake. The only pain I had was in my back and that was horrible, but the pain meds took all of that away. My Nut only allows a one night stay in the hospital even though he performs his procedures open.  The next day at home was not great to say the least but I made it through it.  I was progressing through the diet phases ok and made it to the creamed soup phase (full liquid) and I was doing fine until about a week into it I would notice after taking two baby spoon fulls of soup, I would get a little nauseous so I just stopped. Then 2 days later I saw my Nut and he graduated me to Mashed potatoes and soft foods and I made my way to Popeyes.... Why did I do that? The gravy has paarticles of Beef and what do you know, it got stuck... I was in misery for 2 days...water wouldn't even pass. everything came back, but not as food, but the foamies..... yep I experienced the foamies on my 4th week out....  Well even though it has passed and water can clear.. I still can't stop the foamies from happening all day, so I haven't gone back to work... He called me into his office yesterday 4.5.09 on a Sunday.... I must admit my Nut cares about his patients...He still calls me twice a day since surgery on 3.10.09. He told me that I couldn't be dilated until my 6th week out and he would be there to monitor the procedure to ensure that they don't dilate me too much. I guess it sounds like I am developing a stricture. For the Pre-ops, there is nothing that can be done to avoid a Stricture, it just happens to people like me that heal too well. Well keep me in your prayers, I have another week and 2 days before I can be dilated.

Oh I forgot to add the part that everyone wants to know.. since sugery on 3.10.09 I have lost exactly 30 pounds.... A total loss of 57 pounds since my nut makes you lose 10% of your weight prior to surgery... Oh Yeah, since I thought I had to work today I went shopping for a few work items that would fit and I nolonger can shop in the plus sizes...Yeah!!!!! That was a great feeling even though I have had a little bit of a rough time so far....well take care everyone...
