Today I am 15 weeks post op and I have lost a total of 76lbs and 53.55 inches from my body. I feel good and only get sick if I eat too much or too fast. Would I do this again? In a heart beat. My quality of life is already 100% better. I can only begin to dream what it will be like when I lose another 76+lbs. Good luck to those of you who are beginning this journey or struggling to get to the next step. Don't ever give up, but also be patient. Everything happens for a reason!

I am just over 3 weeks post op and down 30lbs, but have been extremly nauseous the last 5 days. Today I finally called my surgeon as I am not even able to keep down water. He thinks I have a stricture and I have to go in to see him first thing in the morning. Other than this, I am doing great, but feeling awfully weak, I'm supposing since I haven't been able to eat much of anything for the last few days. Has anyone else gone through this? Any words of encouragement or suggestions?

Well, I'm home and finally able to sit here long enough to type. My surgery went well. I was in the hospital for 3 nights (my surgeons standard) and up walking the day after surgery. Morphine was my best friend for the first 3 days as well. Don't let anyone fool you, this is NOT easy. I was in a considerable amount of pain my whole hospital stay. Today I am taking my liquid pain meds every 6-7 hours and am managing pretty well with that. I can pull myself up and out of chairs, bed and the couch by myself finally, but the bathroom is still proving to be a bit of a challenge alone. It's amazing, even having laproscopic surgery, how much your stomach muscles hurt after this surgery. I thank the LORD for my husband, who has been my rock the entire time. There is not one thing he will not do for me. On the food issue, I'm doing ok. A few bites of anything and I'm stuffed. Today has consisted of 1/3 of a scrambled egg and 1 oz of tomato juice for breakfast. Lunch was some green jello (Amazing, but I'm not sick of it yet) and 1/3 of a piece of string cheese. Lots of water..... and a sugar free popsicle occasionally. Thank you all for you well wishes!

Julie, Congratulations on your surgery. As you take your journey to the inner, and thinner you, remember: The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 For I am the LORD, you God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13 Don't tell GOD how big your storm is. Tell the storm how big your GOD is! Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 I'm hoping you have a successful surgery, a rapid recovery, and much success in your weight loss journey. Des's date of surgery 3/13/2002 Pre-op weight =316#'s, current weight on 4/08/2003 = 175#'s , -141#'s

**SOARING ANGEL ALERT** Miss Julie is on the LOSING SIDE! After just over four hours in the skilled hands of Dr. Thomas Eubanks, her lap RNY was declared to have 'gone well'. The plan for the day is rest, ice chips and more rest. She'll be up and walking tomorrow if all goes according to plan. Please join me in a big HOWDY to our newest 'loser'.. ~Peace
