Hello, Everyone

My name is Jennifer(metamorphosis28) which i think is self explanatory, I live in Houston, Texas but not a true Southerner. I'm 28 years old registered nurse, I work in the Texas Medical Center in the Newborn/postpartum unit. Like a lot of people here Obese,fat,x-large all the names you want to call it has been a part of my life, well it's my life and I have reach the point of where I'm tired of it being my life. So the story begins about 2006 when i started researching weight loss surgery all types and the turning point was in June of 2007 when me and my mother went to Puerto Rico for our birthdays and we flew American Airlines and I have to say that was the saddest time ever I was so uncomfortable and felt I could not breathe and I refused of course to ask for extender seat belt so the pressure on my gut didn't help matters and since then I haven't been on a plan. I love to travel and my weight once again has engulfed any life that I have, and it sad to have that perspective about you own life.
So lets fast forward to 2008 and at my largest weight of 289 which needless to say if I have the "smallest" weight since I was always the largest kid ( growing up my mother didn't entertain junk foo and koolaide, she cooked and made our lunches. we did go out to eat once a week and get a "sweet" when it was movies theater time but this wasn't always and yet and still I was the heavier child oppose to  my older sister who was always the "smaller one" and when I got older and went to schools where there where vending machine and snack bars!!! and all my mother's hard work went down hill)-enough of the old school flashback, I'll blog later about my past.
So again 2008, weight 289 height 5feet 61/2inches(i want my half inch), I have decided to have weight loss surgery, I've been working at my job almost 3 years and have good medical insurance Atena POS II. I have found a surgeon DR. Robert Davis and went to his seminar and was given mounds of things i need to do to get approved for surgery I'll just give a couple of requirements 1. 3 month supervised diet with doctor and nutritionist 2. Referral letter from Primary Heath provider 3. psych evaluation 4. 2years of documented "weight related problems" and of course a BMI of over 40 or 35 with 2 co-morbidities again this is my insurance and that's not everything I had to do.
Okay making this way to long but I have to catch up, since I just joined OH i do have a you-tube page since my the beginning of my whole journey metamorphosis28 is my name there to check out my videos-oops off track so any ways fast forwarding to march 5 2009 I have finished everything that insurance has required and waiting approval which was exciting two days later when I found out I was approved for surgery and got a date for April 7 2009, which was move up to April 6Th because another surgery was cancel led. I started the 2 week liguid diet march 26TH and weight at that time 298 and the day of surgery I weighted 287, So now I had my surgery RNY on April 6Th 2009 at or @ 2:00pm, with out complications and now I'm home so I did sum up the a bit to catch but I will continue to blog about details about my experience.
