i have been overweight, pretty much my whole life. I was an adult size 14 in grade 6. When I was 17, I lost almost 100 lbs I went down to a size 16. (That is when I met my husband). Since then, I have been up and down, but never under 190 lbs (before I had my daughter, the 2nd child). After she was born my weight just skyrocketed. I tried to loose weight, but again never got under 200 lbs. I have been married for 27 years and my daughter is now 20. For about 3 years, I tried to find a Dr who would help me get approval for weight loss surgery. I finally found a great Dr whom I love about 1 1/2 years ago. In May 2008, I was registered with a Dr in Alberta, my first consultation was in Oct 2008. I was put on a strick diet of 1 cup of food 3 x a day. I could eat anything I wanted except cheese and chocolate. I could also eat all the lettuce and spinach I wanted. By Jan/09 I had lost over 40 lbs. The Dr put me on a waiting list to see if I could get my surgery sooner than 1 year from first conult. I was fortunate, there was an opening in April, so I had my surgery on April 15/09. I had GYN. I have no regrets. to date, I have lost a total of 159 lbs. as of (Nov01/09). I still have a lot to loose, but am working hard at it.
