As long as I can remember I was overweight, thinking back to 1st grade I was the fat kid. School life sucked. I don't remember dieting until about 5th grade so from then until now my weight has been a struggle. I was either dieting or ignoring the problem and getting fatter. I dieted my way to 425 pounds (my heighest "documented" weight). I had my RNY on June 9, 2006 and it was the best choice I could have made for myself. My quality of life has improved. I can do things now I haven't done in years. Has anyone ever forgotten how it feels to cross your legs or sit in a booth at a restaurant? How about fitting into a seat at a movie theater or in a airplane? Losing 175 pounds has changed my life!! I work with children, a preschool teacher/supervisor. I could not have done my current job before surgery. I still have about 100 pounds to go to not be obese but honestly if I don't get there I'm okay with that too. I am happier than I have ever been and my life is great now!
