Waist not...
Jun 14, 2010
Oh, and I measured my waist today. 36 inches. say WHAT?!?! Oh yeah. 36.
The biggest measurement I have tracked for my waist is 46.75.
My hips?? Today are 44 inches! The biggest I have tracked for my hips is 56!
That is 22 inches in just those two areas ALONE! I think I need to measure all over and compare...what'cha think?
AND...just 7 more pounds and I'm no longer overweight! I couldn't ask for a more blessed way to start my day!!!

Yep...the 3 week stall found me.
Jan 28, 2010
I have made a promise to myself to get in at least one mile per day this week. I will up that amount weekly from here on out.
It starts today! <3
I'm drainless!!

Whew, how good this feels! I had my appointment this morning to have my tube removed. I was scared to have it pulled out, and the Dr. goes 'think of it as we're starting a lawnmower, YANK!!!'...hahaha...and that is totally what they did! Well, not quite THAT fast/hard, but it came out in a second and so was not a big deal. It's such a relief not having that thing hanging from my side anymore!
I am down 12 lbs. from my surgery date a week ago. AMAZING! So I'm now a total of 23 lbs. lost from the 1st of this year when I started my liquid diet to prepare for the surgery. 23 un-beFREAKING-lievable POUNDS!
I was cleared to eat whatever works for me. No structured 'full-liquid, puree, soft food' stages. I am just to start on full-liquid with some puree here and there and if I tolerate it, I can add other things as I see fit. I love that they have given me that freedom. The same with exercise. Whatever I can tolerate. Walking, light aerobics, etc. I can't wait to get back to the Wii Fit!!! Everything is left up to me and how I feel when doing these things. I love that.
Recovering well!!

Anyways, I was sent home off of ALL of my diabetic medications which was my main goal in having the surgery. Now the bonus of weight loss can begin! I still have my drain tube in and it will be removed this Friday the 15th. I'm also still on clear liquids until Friday, then I can start on full liquids. Everyone thinks it's crazy and don't know how I'm doing it with not eating, but after being on liquids for 11 days now, it's really not a big deal anymore, I just fill up with fluids. Speaking of, I'm having no trouble getting in all of my fluids either. Yesterday my total fluids was 68 oz. And today it's going just as smoothly.
So to put it simply, things are going much more smoothly than I had anticipated. If your surgery is coming up, please believe me when I say, you have nothing to be worried about. It will be over before you know what happened, and just listen and do exactly what the doctors and nurses tell you and you're going to do perfectly!!!
Surgery tomorrow!
Jan 06, 2010
I just received my surgery time and I'm the first case, so I have to be there by 5:30 a.m. with surgery being at 7:15 a.m. That means we have to leave home between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. Good thing there will be plenty of sleeping for me after surgery!
I will update after surgery as soon as I'm up to it!!!
...and the liquid diet begins...

Other than that, it's going good...just 4 more days!!!!
Pre-op
Dec 31, 2009
The surgeon's office called yesterday with my pre-op info. I have to be there next Tuesday and Wednesday for pre-op testing and then Thursday is the surgery day.
Tomorrow I start my liquid diet (...do I know how to ring in the New Year right, or what??) and I have my 20 cartons of Atkins Advantage chilling in the fridge, and a cupboard full of chicken & beef broths, decaf tea bags, Crystal Lite, SF popcicels and SF Jellos.
Still can't believe this is actually happening. My biggest fear right now is the being put under for the surgery. Is this normal? I am excited about every other aspect.
