Well like many people that suffer with obesity my story starts at a young age. I was always very active but about the time I was 14 the weight started to come on. I never gave in to being over weight. As much as I can remember I have pretty much continued a fight against it in one way or another. I love outdoor activities but unfortunately I can't do what I want because I am held back physically. I am also a musician and I love playing music. I love the joy that it brings people. But much like other things in the life on an overweight person that has it's down sides as well. With the more weight I have gained, it has become increasingly more difficult to stand and play a heavy instrument for long periods of time. Usually by the end of a show I am beat and just want to sit down. I am looking forward to what WLS will help me do. I have friends and family that have had WLS and I understand that it is only a tool and that hard work goes with it. It is encouraging to know that I will finally have a chance to get a head!
