My story starts at age 18, when I got engaged and then started gaining weight before I got married. My whole family has weight issues, so it was against me, but I was a fine weight thoughout HS. My ex husband was very thin and tall and worked for McDonalds. That did not help me. I had my first child just before my 22nd Bday and my second child when I was 25 and my third when I was 31. In between, I lost weight, but gained it back. I divorced my ex husband after 20 years of marriage and being over 200 pounds for all of my 20's and 30's.  When I turned 38, and was divorced for about 9 months, I had the lap band surgery. I was 248 when I had the surgery and got down to 178 at my lowest.  The band worked well for me for 6.5 years. Then I started getting sick and decided to go to the DR and he told me to have an upper GI done. It showed my band had slipped. So I am now going for a revision surgery on May 14th. I start shakes tomorrow. My insurance will not pay for the sleeve, so I am having the gastric bypass. I am a bit nervous about that, but not as much as not having anything done and gaining all that weight plus back. I have gained about 25 pounds since my band went flat in Jan. I feel terrible and just need to get this done. angry Got to do it.. Off I am...
