Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Nioxin Shampoo
  • Nioxin Conditioner
  • Protein Sources
  • Vitamins
  • Biotin
  • Silica
  1. 1

Make sure you get your protein in every day. Hair is made up of protein. Your body is not able to take in as much as it used to so your body is losing hair, as usual, but it may not be able to generate new hair follicles if you don't get in enough protein. Instead, what protein you do get in will go to more important bodily needs. Work towards getting 80 grams of protein a day.

  2. 2

Massage your scalp daily. This gets the circulation going, which encourages hair growth.

  3. 3

Wash your hair with Nioxin shampoo & conditioner. This is the only shampoo formulated to nurture the scalp itself.

  4. 4

Avoid chemically altering your hair in any way (perming, coloring, etc) as this weakens the hair and causes it to become more brittle.

  5. 5

Take all your vitamins, as your doctor prescribes. Some other supplements that are known to be beneficial are:

    Iron
    Zinc
    Biotin
    Silica
    Vitamin A
    Folate
    B6

Consulting with your doctor or nutritionist will unveil for you if these supplements should be considered in your individual situation. Pay attention to these ingredients in your diet as well but always keep protein as your number one priority.
