11 days post op

Mar 26, 2010

I should have started writing here sooner than this, but I just never considered it. I'm now 11 days post op, and not feeling too bad. I had a little bit of a scare today; I was touching my stomach and felt something really hard where I didn't expect it to be. Judy at Chrias was really helpful and offered I come in so she could check it out. Apparently, my port is more midline and higher than normal, and my port incision is a little larger than normal. I guess the scar tissue is starting to form, and it just freaked me out. Other than that, this whole thing hasn't been that bad. The gas was the worst part. Hiccups have also been something I'm getting use to. My stomach doesn't like just having liquids, and lets me know. I just can't wait to start eating real food. A few years ago, I went on a spree of eating tuna salad on lettucce and just having that for dinner. I really like tuna, and know it's part of the pureed diet. I guess I'm just getting tired of not being able to eat.

I think I've come to my first of many plateaus and it's just a little frustrating. I've been stuck at around 260 now for a few days. I'm told this is normal, and that's when I need to switch it up. Not sure what I need to do though.
