22 Days into my new life
Feb 16, 2009
Well I'm about 22 days post-op and everything is going well. I went to see my surgeon on Feb 11th, and he was happy with my progress. He said if I was still loosing 1-2lb a week he might put off my first fill. That's exciting, and kind of offputting at the same time --- I mean I got the tool to help. I've moved into a pureed mushy hybrid diet. Although I'd kill for something more solid! I do feel better than Id id when I was on just liquids. I feel fuller longer --- even though I do get hungry. I suppose its that lack of restriction. But overall I'm doing just fine :)

Changing my life twice
Jan 25, 2009
So here it is! Today is my day! And I'm everything that I should be: excited, scared, nervous, wondering why I'm doing this again. But from what I've been told if I do not feel that way then I should be even MORE worried! Thankfully my pre-surgery weekend ended up being so busy I couldn't think about anything but the task at hand. I was going through the Membership Intake Process for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated all weekend! It was exciting, and wonderful -- and I left on Sunday afternoon with more new sisters than ever and a sense of being part of something so much biger and more wonderful that I ever could have thought! I'm ready (upon recovery) to dive into the process, get put on committiees and just get my hands dirty providing service to all mandkind :)
Now I suppose I should focus on the immediate task at hand -- which is to pray for an uneventful day today and a speedy recovery! I'm looking forward to gaining a tool to help me keep my health in check, and prevent the comorbidities that I have seen my Mom and other family members go through. So now I get to hang out and be hungry -- and then go change my life for the better.
Wow -- twice in 24 hours I'm working to change my life for the better. How awesome!
