4 weeks post op

Jun 28, 2012

Well maybe I should have started this sooner but I'm not really a blogger.  I'm 4 weeks post op today and I can't beleive how different I feel.  Just 6 weeks ago I was so scared of having this surgery that I cancelled it, after speaking with my surgeon and the other staff they eased my fears and rescheduled for 2 weeks later, and I am so glad I did!  I'm 36 lbs lighter than the date of my surgery and 50 lbs lighter than my heaviest weight in December!  I know I still have a long way to go but I'm celebrating the small victories as I go like getting into those jean shorts I haven't worn since before I had my son 4 and half years ago and hitting 50 lbs total loss since December!  I know the big results will come. I'm also pleased to see my 4 year old son picking up on my healthier eating habits.  My energy level amazes me and I've been religiously using the Wii fit every day as well as walking and/or riding my bike every day.
I was always active with my son we went to the park and took walks and bike rides but I got tired before him, which I thought was normal because he's 4 and they have all the energy in the world at that age.  I realizd things were changing when we were on a bike ride the other day and he stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and turned to me and said "Mommy are you trying to wear me out or something?"  while I felt a little guilty that he was so tired (we only ride through the neighborhood so we're never too far from home for this reason exactly) I knew I was on the right track because that has never happened before, and on a side note he slept really good that night!
I'm so glad I decided to begin this journey when I did!  Not only am I going to hopefully reach my goal of being under 200 by the time I'm 30 but I'm going to be able to set positive and heathy examples for my son so he doesn't grow up making the same mistakes I did!
