My story , hmmm, well I come from a family of large women, maybe 1 or 2 skinnies slip by.  I have always been fat even while I was at home as a child.  Now that I am older and see the types of food that was available, and feed to me, that too was a problem.  Where does it say you HAVE TO clean your plate?  Now I am a grandma x2 and I love my grandchildren with all my heart, I am married to a wonderful man, he is my friend, buddy , lover, and most of all he cares about how I feel. I have three children, 36,35,34 years of age.  They too are very dear to me, I told them what choice I have made and they all in agreement that they will be there for me for support.  I have a God sent family.
I have tried every diet, exersize program possible, just seems that it all comes back 10 fold.  My Sister in Law is coming to take care of me post surgery. My sister had this surgery 2 years ago and is doing great. It really was her and her male friend that gave me such hope that this is the best health decision I could possibly make. He also had this done, 1 year post op.
This is the most I have ever weighed 280 and I have a goal to be 150, alot of work I know but I am worth it.
update I now on 10/01/2009 weigh 165 not much more to go. I feel great and happy for a change.Ok people, here I am 2 years and 2 months post op. And my weight is are you ready 150, yes I met my goal but I feel that 5-10 more will be my limit. I am no longer a diabetic, my doctor has taken me off the list as being a diabetic. I am on 3 blood pressure meds but that is ok I am doing very well with that. I am so greatful to God and the team of professional that took care of me. And I remain ever greatful to my husband and family that stood by be all these months. No it has not been easy but certainly a large life change, for the best and wow the nice clothes out there, for the first time in my life since I was 10 years old I have never been in a single digit dress, this year I went to get a gown for the mardi gras ball in 2011 and I slid into a size 9 dress wow!!!!!! My jeans are still at 10 but wow I am so happy and healthy. Dr. Hannon told me he was very happy with my status and as far as he could see I was at a healthy weight. I send many prayer to others thinking about wether or not to go through this expreience. God Bless You as he has me.
