I have struggled with my weight since the end of highschool the last time i remember being at my smallest and knowing the weight was October 10, 2004 I was 234lbs.....and I now sit at 321lbs....eep.

Yikes!...I couldn't really pinpoint where I went wrong and cannot place blame anywhere but on my own shoulders. I did gain most of my weight in 2004-2005 ending up at a whopping 329lbs by April 2005. I then proceeded to attack my weight loss with everything I could think of.

Thus began the weight loss yoyo of doom!

Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Medically supervised weight loss programs, Atkins, etc etc etc. I did manage initially to ground my weight back down to 260 around 2007 but then I had a very tragic event happen to my mother and i then spiraled out of control with my weight and crept it back slowly up to 328lbs in 2012.

I then believed i could try adapting all the good things i learned from all my dieting into creating my own diet plan. It worked. for about 5 months. I lost 47lbs and was on my way happily.  Then came the pain. I went head first into a door frame and had compression pain through my spine for about 4 months where i could barely move without feeling like my back was breaking. I tore muscles that run along my left clavicle into my shoulder and couldn't use that arm for another 3 months. I bounced right back up in weight. I thought then to find someway to get past the weightloss before the pain took hold but didn't know what to do.

That is when my family doctor said it was time to go for Gastric Bypass. I thought hey i can start the application process and see what happens i don't HAVE to do it but we'll see, that was July 2013.

By February 2014 I hadn't heard anything and for the first time in over a year I thought i could get back on track with my weight loss. I was wrong, one morning at work i went to reach for a file and felt like someone had turned my spine into a very sensitive string and any movement caused me indescribable pain.

Apparently the head into the door frame injury i had suffered the year prior was back with a vengeance to the point that there is severe muscle/ligament damage now. It was at this point that my doctor said we had to push for the GB because any future incidents with my back would only get worse and worse to the point where i wouldn't be able to walk.

Which brings us to May 2014. I get the call that i am now in the program and my orientation is July 2nd! I went to the assessment and raced through all my assessments with the doctors in record time.

Today is September 30th, 2014, and my surgery has been booked for October 28th, 2014! I can finally look forward to the new year coming up with hope and happiness.
