Cherry's New Beginning
Surgery done and home again!
Nov 20, 2011
Wow, time sure does fly. My intiial thoughts were that this time would never come. I have been proven incorrect. It does happen sometimes, just don't tell DH or the kids(lol). I had my surgery on Wednesday and have been counting my blessings since the time I woke up in recovery. I had visions of pain and discomfort and just overall dread of the first few days/weeks. I am happy to say that I had only one dose of pain meds in the evening of the day I had surgery and thats it! Not even tylenol. NO pain, very little gas discomfort and not even stiffness. Makes me wonder sometimes if the doc did anything other than poke 5 holes in my belly???Anyway. Certainly not complaining. Just counting my blessings. I've been up and around and don't even find myself very tired at all. I am still going to give myself a couple of weeks off of work just in case and to make sure that if I do end up with complications, I have not drained myself by returning too early.
I do find that I get a little flustered with all the eating and drinking. It seems like thats all I do. I guess I will settle into a routine and find it less of a pain. All vitamins and water in so far with no problems though so another blessing.
Wishing all other new post-ops well on their journeys. Lets rock this thing!
