Starting Over

Mood: Hopeful

I'd given up trying to get the process rolling last time because my referral was denied (APIPA).

Now over a year later, I'm starting again, for several reasons. I've applied for SSDI and recently had my hearing, and both my attorney and I agree that it looks I'll be approved, probably 95% chance. Which means that, not only will I get back "pay", but also that I'll have Medicare. I figured if I can't get approved to insurance, if worse comes to worst, that I'll at least have enough money to be able to go to Mexico to have it done.

So yesterday I went to the seminar at Bridges (Dr. Juarez and Dr. Fang). I have a friend who had Dr. Juarez, so I felt comfortable going there. I was very impressed with his office and the seminar. I have hope for the first time that I actually get approved, especially because the Medicare requirements don't appear to be as stringent as those for APIPA.

I set my appointment for a consultation with Dr. Juarez on 8/30/10, and I have an appointment on Monday 8/16/10 with my PCP to get the referral. I hope it goes well.
