I am 5 days before meeting my surgeon

I am from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
I am married for 21 years.
I am 51 years old.
I am a mother of 4 daughters.
My kids have never seen me slim. I started gaining weight as soon as I got pregnant which was right after my wedding.
I have had many missed opportunities and life events because of my weight.
In Ontario, our Ontario Health Insurance Plan (universal healthcare) started covering RNY gastric by pass surgery in 2008.
I was referred to the program in November 2009 by my GP.
I had my first group meeting in February 2010.
Then the hospital postponed certain surgeries because of a super bug situation.
I had my first meetings with psychiatrist, behaviorist, dietician starting in December 2010- January 2011.
I had my first education meeting March 3, 2011.
I will meet my surgeon, Dr. Yelle, on March 15, 2011.
I will then get a date for surgery.
I am looking to this site for information, inspiration and to help allay my fears!
I will be using point form rather than paragraphs because it is easier to read.
