Protein Powders

Hi everyone. I'm new to this site. During all my research for VSG I found this site and a lot of helpful tips. I am having my surgery on April 27 and I couldn't be more excited. I started thinking about what protein shake I should buy. I have NO idea how many carbs and calories I should be having. Can anyone help? Found Vega Clean Protein at target  has 25g of protein, 130 calories, and 3G total Carbs.

Whey Isolate protein powders are recommended. My surgeons recommendation was your protein drink or shake when you finished making it (powder plus added ingredients) shouldn't have more than 200 calories, 5g sugar and at least 20g protein.

I was told to make sure the protein and carbohydrate ratio is 1:1 or very close to 1:1. For example if you have 20 protein, the carbs should be 20. These are "good" carbs. I was recommended "Complete Protein" shakes or powder. You can buy this off of Amazon. I also like the syntax nectar chocolate truffle flavor. Best of luck to you! Hi,

I've tried these and it didn't taste very good to me.  I've had much more success with whey protein powders (Syntrax Nectar, Chike, Quest, Isopure.)  

Unfortunately, there are also a lot of crap protein powders.  The labels totally lie and there's lots of "snake oil."  My trainer told me about this site:  https://labdoor.com/rankings/protein  I usually check on here before I try a new protein powder.

Finally, there's a site that lets you buy samples before you buy the whole tub... http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/
