I picked up a cold somewhere and was miserable at work yesterday.  I went home and took Nyquil about 6:00pm.  W O W ! ! ! ! It hit me like a ton of bricks.  I vaguely remember getting up off the couch at one point around 10:30 I think and trying to work the remote control.  HA!  That took awhile.  Finally got the TV turned off and went upstairs to bed where I passed out again until about 5:30 this morning.  It is now 8:30am and I still feel like I had several mixed drinks.

My advice...if you have to take Nyquil, take the children's dose.  I took the full 2 tbsp adult dose and it was clearly WAY too much.

Hope you feel better soon.  The good thing about what I have is that it seems to be fast moving.

It is interesting how medication effects us so much differently after weight loss. I have migraines and have had to go and get a shot for one since having surgery. I get toroidal and phenergan. It knocked me out for 2 days! I used to be able to take a few hour nap and go back to work. Thankfully I have only had the one very severe migrants inch having surgery. I know the weight loss won't get rid of them completely because I've had them since I was 3 years old,but they have improved tremendously.

I occasionally suffer with migraines too so I know how horrible they are.  Glad they have gotten better!

I used to be able to drink a couple of beers with no ill effect - now 1/2 glass knocks me out!! Went from eating a 24 oz steak, with sides and 2 or 3 beers to now only a 6 oz steak, side salad and 1/2 beer. Same enjoyment, same fulfillment. Cheaper, better for me. I call that encouraging!!!

It's funny how things affect us each differently. I had a cold last week and I took a half dose of Nyquil because I was afraid of it having that effect on me. I was disappointed because it took longer to work and I was awake again three hours later. I had to take one of my melatonin pills to get back to sleep. *shakes head*
