I would follow your doctors plan religiously! That is what I did (and have been doing) and I had a quick and fairly easy recovery. I was on clear liquids for 10 days post op, then moved to creamed soups and such for about 2 weeks. I was so ready to eat some "real" food but I stuck to his plan. You need to give your stomach time to heal. Even if you feel much better and think you can handle anything, slow down and do as your doctor is telling you. Just be sure to get in your fluids right now. You do not want to get dehydrated!! Good luck to you on your new journey
The plan is clear liquid for a week. I have stuff to add to my clear liquid so I can get enough protein. It was just strange that they were all protein but then they said not to worry about it. I think I should probably start adding protein now, especially since the nausea seems to have gone away. Thanks everyone!
My doctor said during the week of clear liquids not to worry about protein, just to stay hydrated. If you deviate from your doctor's plan you could harm yourself.
Do EXACTLY what your doc instructed you to do and stay hydrated...sip, sip, sip....walk, walk, walk...you'll be eating real food before you know it, but you've gotta let that tummy heal right now so pull out that plan and put it where you can see it all the time ****pt mine on the kitchen counter for a month). When you are ready to fuel your body, pick something legal. Good luck! You're gonna do great!

You must permanently change your lifestyle if you want your weight loss to be permanent. You can do it!
I have to agree with the others. Keep to the doctors plan. When we cut ourselves, it begins to swell and is sore for a few days until it starts to heal. You just had 1/2 your stomach removed and its swollen and trying to heal. I'd stick to your liquids until the doctor gives the word to move on. Good luck.
