Congrats on your new journey! I was very thirsty after my surgery also. It took about a week for me to lose that dry feeling in my mouth, but I had no problem getting my water intake. My blood sugar was not as high as yours and I didn't need any insulin but 1 week after surgery I was taken off my diabetic medication as my sugar started running normal. I hope this happens for you also, but eventually it will come down. Just hang in there!
Congrats! I was Sleeved 15 July14, and wasvery thirsty as well. I found sucking on ice chips helped alot. Prior to surgery I was taking oral meds for my diabetes, my last A1C was 6.5. After the surgery my blood sugar was a bit high so they administered insilin and sent me home with insilin. I am now 10 days post op and have not had to take an insilin shot once. My blood sugar has not been higher than 130. In the hospital I once had a blood sugar over 200. Your body is still adjusting, Iit does get better.
