Day 6 post-op and still nauseous

Feeling better in general. Stopped taking the pain meds and switched to Tylenol two days ago. Everything make me nauseous though. I am thirsty, I get nauseous.  I have a drink, I get nauseous. I get to hot, I get nauseous. I am tired, I get nauseous. Not horrible nauseous, but headed down that road each time.  Any tips or thoughts?  I am taking my Prilosec and zofran.  I think it might be nap time again...zzz...

To me, it sounds like you might be dehydrated.  Nausea is a symptom of dehydration.  You've got to force yourself to get your fluids in, at least 40 ounces.

Oh no! Nausea is my worst nightmare. No tips for you, just sympathy. Hang in there. It can't last forever.

I figure it can't last forever too. Arg. It is by far worse than the pain. I am trying to drink more and more. Getting off the nasty pain meds helped. Those made me dizzy, which makes me nauseous. Hahaha, I'm a mess.

Thanks Gwen. I was wondering if that might be it. It is so hard to drink when you don't want to throw up. I am trying to drink more and more. I've probably had 30 oz today. I know it isn't enough. I had no idea it would truly be so hard to get in enough fluid. Crazy!

SF Popsicles might help. They're liquid but can be a lot easier to consume. And right now it's all about hydration. 40oz is the minimum we need. If another day or so goes on like this, get thee to ER for an IV!
