I have a date
Ok, so what has been a roller coaster ride is finally coming to an end. I was wanting to have the sleeve done, insurance only covers RNY. Go through all the hoops for insurance approval (dietian, dr. recommendation, psych eval) waiting to see the surgeon for final consultation, get a pink slip only 60 more days of insurance. Start the fast track process and get in to see the surgeon. Talk to insurance and it could take up to 30 days for approval, by this time, I don't have 30 days. Talk to dr. office, they ask if I've ever had indigestion, I say yes, they say I can probably have the sleeve done because you more than likely have a hiatal hernia but I need an EGD. Have EGD on Friday (6/20) doc says yep, have a big one. Having sleeve done on 7/7, my very last day of insurance without having to go on COBRA. Doing their pre-op diet liquid breakfast and lunch and 5oz lean protein and 2 cups non-starchy veggies for dinner. So far so good, already dropped 2 lbs. Cannot wait to start my new life in less than 2 weeks.
Congrats!
