My surgery was 2 weeks ago tomorrow.  I have had diarrhea every day since 2 days after my surgery.  I keep waiting for it to get better but it doesn't.  In fact, today is the worst day yet. I am starting to wonder if not having a ggallbladder will mean that I will have diarrhea for the rest of my life.

I was hoping it was the milk products so I switched to Isopure but now I have it more frequently.  I see my doctor Tuesday and I plan to talk to him about it but geez, I am darn sick of it.

The Isopure shakes use whey protein and isn't that a milk product?

For me, I had diarrhea every day during my post-op liquid diet.  I don't know if it's better now because I'm on purees, or because I've started taking 2 tablespoons of Benefiber a day and 1 dose of Miralax.

Are you taking the Miralax (laxative) to offset some of the effects of the Benefiber??

Hm.  It's more like - if I don't take Benefiber, I only have diarrhea.  But if I don't take Miralax, I don't poop at all.  With both of them, I have normal poops.

(I am hopeful that once I'm eating real food for every meal that I'll be able to experiment a bit and use less of these things!)

I had the same problem.  Immodium helped.  Ask your doctor.  But be careful because you can quickly go the other way fast.

Sorry I can't help, but I have the opposite problem. I've had constipation so bad, I wouldn't mind trading it for a little diarrhea!

I had diarrhea through the liquid diet, but once I switched to solids it switched to being constipated.  From what I've read on here, that's pretty normal.

In addition to the milk products, you might want to check for sugar alcohols...anything ending in 'ol', like sorbital, manitol, zylitol, etc.  Even one protein bar with that ingredient will set me off for 2 days.

I sure hope you figure it out soon!
