2 week post op
Hello- 2 weeks ago, I got my sleeve. Things started out pretty rough. A lot more pain than I thought I would have. Also, the anesthesia and meds made me feel not myself/depressed/forgetful. I stopped pain meds at day 6 because of that. I've just been dealing with the pain since then. I gained 25 pounds after surgery-lots of swelling. I'm down 14 pounds this morning. I don't have trouble drinking. I had to double my protonix due to GERD. I tried half a scrambled egg and it sat uncomfortably for 2 hours. Will go more slowly.
Pain is still there. I have a hematoma under one incision (feels like a tennis ball under the incision)-so that is uncomfortable. I know I will feel much better when I can walk/exercise more-so I hope the pain allows that soon.
At one week out, I was regretting this. I was in pain and depressed. I feel much better-so it does get better!!!!

I'm so sorry that you've had such a rough start! Are you able to take anything OTC for pain? Like regular tylenol?

It's getting a lot better! Tylenol helps but I use heat and ice more often. Could always be a lot worse!!

I felt the same as you! I am also 2 weeks out. I was told to try egg beaters instead of eggs, (at week 3) nut said they are easier on the belly. I am also feeling depressed. Not as much as week one. It's very hard to take care of yourself after so many years of ignoring yourself. Honey moon period my ass!
I wish you luck!
I agree! It is hard to take care of ourselves the first 10 days, I didn't want to do anything. And I felt worse from not being able to exercise like before surgery.
I hope things are looking up for you. I had to force myself to "act as if" and pretend I wasn't depressed. I forced myself to get out of the house and start doing "normal" stuff. That helped a lot.
This hematoma will probably be bothering me for months- but I think the pain should get better and I will be able to walk more.
And I will stay off the eggs for a bit!!!thanks
