The first week is really hard! It will get better I promise! The hunger you are feeling is probably acid.

Don't regret it. I had a lot of pain and complications that lasted about two weeks. I'm now six weeks out and I feel amazing. It will get better and the hunger will pass.

Hang in there!

Hang in there stephania im sorry things are so bad for you right now! Did they give you nausea meds? When i was in tge hospital my nausea med would wear off and it would be too soon so they would give a diff kind. They were swapping me back and forth between reglan and zofran that way amd it helped a lot. Can you call your surgeon's emergeny num and ask for another nausea med?

Hang in there! I agree that it gets much easier after the first week. I was sent home wearing a nausea patch that I could wear until 2 days post op. I didn't need it after than, but I'm sure I could have asked for another one if I had needed it. Have you tried different temps with the liquid.. I have heard that some people have an easier time with warm liquids. My tummy likes cold.. don't know why. I hope that you feel better soon!

It will most definitely get better. the first 2 weeks i thought i was doing horribly and was always going to feel sick, and somewhere around day 10 i woke up and i felt like my old self again. PS, i still haven't gotten in all the food they want me to, i just focus on the vitamins and the water and i trust the rest will come.

It gets better. Your body has just gone through a lot. Breathe, tell yourself it's temporary. By week three swallowing gets easier... Have some Popsicles, keep hydrated and you'll soon be getting the protein down.

Stay strong.
